Unknown Soldiers
Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more! PDF Print E-mail

After 5 months of hard fighting under RA against SOLAR / -A- (and pets) Unknown soldiers has left RED.Legion.

It was a fantastic few months, and our Killboard is considerably more padded than before the war! However, RA abandoned the fight and UNSOL had no desire to follow the shattered shell of RA to NPC space.

Therefore, Unknown Soldiers has joined GIANTSBANE - an up and coming alliance living under RAIDEN in Vale of the Silent. GIANTSBANE specialise in small-gang warfare, and we are looking forward to a restful few months of excellent gang warfare - and the inevitable fleet drama with our allies RAIDEN!

History

UNSOL is a large 0.0 PVP corporation with a long history in PVP warfare. Founded in early 2008 the corporation has steadily grown, and participated many of the great 0.0 wars and alliances. Shortly after its founding by pilots with up to four years experience in EVE, UNSOL formed its own alliance, Soldiers of New Eve. SONE immediately began a war against Scalar Federation in Pure Blind (Region) , which escalated into a Sovereignty war, with UNSOL and its allies deploying multiple POS in Scalar space. Both Scalar and SONE hired mercenaries to assist in the conflict, and one of these corps, Knights of Chaos subsequently joined UNSOL in the Soldiers of New Eve alliance.

SONE had made major inroads into Scalar sovereignty; however, two corporations within SONE were bribed by Scalar to leave the alliance. With this loss of membership SONE was forced to withdraw from the Scalar conflict. Knights of Chaos and UNSOL worked closely together following the withdrawal, and joined Chaos Incarnate (Player Alliance). The closure of CHAOS in late 2008 resulted in a majority of Unknown Soldiers members going their own way, and the corporation entered its first hiatus. Over a year later, former UNSOL and Knights of Chaos members decided to reform. Leaders of both corporations had flown together after SONE disbanded, as members of Triumvirate. (Player alliance). Following the re-establishment of UNSOL, eight out of ten original leaders and directors of Unknown soldiers, and Knight of Chaos re-joined. The corporation attracted disaffected Triumvirate members, and following the eventual withdrawal of Ethereal Dawn (Player alliance) from the Droneland Wars, many former ED members joined UNSOL, further bolstering the Corp's numbers and strength.

This newly reformed Unknown Soldiers joined Sc0rched Earth (Player alliance). However, just as UNSOL joined BYRN, the alliance was forced to withdraw from 0.0 following an unsuccessful war against a Russian coalition headed by Red Alliance. UNSOL swiftly moved from the disaster of BYRN, and despite having lost billions of assets, joined Cult of War (Player alliance). UNSOL expanded rapidly during this time, growing numerically by both public recruiting, and through recruiting former allies. When COW moved out of Great Wildlands, in favour of new sovereignty in Scalding Pass, UNSOL decided to relocate to a new home in 0.0.

In December 2009 the corp joined Systematic-Chaos alliance in Esoteria, expanding its industrial division while retaining a high PVP participation. During the corporation’s time in Eso its capital fleet was expanded to include 30+ active Carriers and Dreads, along with several supercapitlal and titan pilots. UNSOL deployed a station in 2R-KLH (System) in March 2010.

The outbreak of war amongst the former allies SYS-K (Stain Empire and c0ven) in early 2010 crippled the industrial side of SYS-K, thanks to the constant PVP and hostile camps in the Alliances main systems. Utilising the new station in 2R-KLH (System) UNSOL was able to establish itself as a new market hub in the region. During the war UNSOL was able to contribute to the SYS-IK war effort militarily, with 15+ UNSOL capitals and super capitals participating in the Battle for HHQ, a number surpassed only by I.NET, the executor corp.

April 2010 saw the resignation of Liam Fremen as the alliance leader of Systematic-Chaos (Player Alliance), and the subsequent withdrawal of I.NET from SYS-K. Regular hostile camps in UNSOL's home systems prevented industry and ratting from being conducted by members. This inability to generate ISK, and the failure of the new SYS-K leadership to counter SE/c0ven led to the leadership of Unknown Soldiers deciding to withdraw from Esoteria.

USOL’s station in 2R- was relinquished to an allied alliance, Primary, who subsequently failed to maintain sovereignty and lost the station to Stain Empire. Following the collapse of SYS-K, Unknown Soldiers leadership decided to forge out their own destiny in 0.0, free of the internal-politicking that had crippled its previous alliances. In conjunction with Polaris Rising, UNSOL founded The Spire Collective - a new alliance working alongside SOLAR and the other Drone region alliances. During this time UNSOL launched a new station in in K-BBYU (System), which would become a major regional hub. Soon after the launch of the new station an influx of new Corporations led to SPIRE becoming a major 0.0 alliance with 1000+ members.

During UNSOLs time in SPIRE the corporation massively expanded its Super Capital Fleet, with 20+ active Supercapital pilots. UNSOL and SPIRE worked closely with SOLAR / Legion of Death / IRC regularly deploying capitals and supercapitals in support of their allies.

In Feburary 2011 Unknown Soldiers left The Spire, with a hugley expanded supercaital fleet, and joined Wildly Inappropriate. (Player alliance) in the Northern Coalition. The Corporation kicked all of its inactive members, and began re-establishing itself as an active PVP entity. For 5 months UNSOL flew alongside Wildly Inappropriate. (Player alliance) fighting in Geminite, Vale of the Silent and finally Tribute. Following the closure of WI and the ultimatum to merge into one corp or leave, UNSOL left for a period of low-sec pirating.

When Morsus Mihi and BricK sQuAD. began an invasion of the Delve thunderdome in July 2011, B O R G a new alliance formed of ex-RAZOR and AAA corporations invited Unknown Soldiers to assist in the conquest of the O-EIMK (Constellation) . The Coporations heavy supercapital fleet and strong sub-capital presence on the field was crucial in the early days of the campaign, and subseqently in the sov grind that ensued.

While in Delve (Region) UNSOL set about expanding the size of its member base, though mergers and selctive recruitment - bringing average numerical participation in CTAs up to 18 (excluding capital alts).

Membership

Unknown Soldiers is a dedicated PVP corporation, with some industry being conducted by alts for income.

The average SP is between 40-60M SP, with a variance skills from 5m SP to 115m SP.

Recruitment is conducted ingame, though UNSOL’s public channel – UNSOL pub

UNSOL maintains a strong Capital Fleet (30+ ships), which are regularly deployed in combat situations.Unknown Soldiers also maintain an active Supercapital fleet of 12+ Supercarriers and 6 Titans.

There is a strong corporate emphasis on capital warfare, but also a culture that encourages and leads roaming gangs as well as black-op style warfare.
